Social Media Specialist
Location: Dallas, TX | Department: Marketing | Reports to: Marketing Director & Brand President
Job Summary:
The Social Media Specialist will play a key role in executing the brand’s social media strategy across all major platforms. This position requires a highly organized, creative, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for scheduling content, writing compelling copy, engaging with our audience, and keeping our digital presence fresh and on-brand.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute the social media strategy as outlined by the Marketing Director.
• Schedule and publish multimedia content across various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube, using scheduling tools and native applications.
• Write clear, engaging, and brand-aligned copy for daily posts, stories, reels, and broader marketing campaigns.
• Monitor and respond promptly to comments and direct messages, fostering meaningful community engagement across all platforms.
• Actively engage with brand-relevant accounts and conversations, maintaining the voice and tone of Sneaker Politics.
• Stay informed on current social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging best practices to help optimize performance.
• Regularly update channel features (e.g. IG tags, product tagging, pinned posts, story highlights) to ensure content is current and discoverable.
• Organize, download, and catalog creative assets for seamless scheduling and campaign execution.
• Collaborate with the marketing team in creative brainstorms, bringing fresh ideas for content themes, activations, and collaborations.
• Create both still and video content for use across social platforms.
• Attend Politics-led events (primarily local to Dallas, with occasional travel as needed) to capture real-time social coverage of brand activations and experiences.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a social media or digital marketing role (retail or lifestyle brand experience a plus).
• Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
• Strong understanding of all major social media platforms and their content ecosystems.
• Highly responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines.
• Passionate about digital storytelling (streetwear and sneaker culture is a plus).
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Apple Keynote / MS PowerPoint.
• Experience with social scheduling tools (e.g. Later, Sprout Social, Hootsuite) preferred.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Experience editing shortform video content (TikTok / CapCut / Adobe Premiere is a plus.
• Reliable transportation to and from office and events.
• Must be based in the Dallas area.
