"Growing up in Southern California, I was surrounded by diverse walks of life and style. From metal studs to fat colored laces, it was rare to see anyone with an untouched pair of Chuck Taylors. It wasn’t just another pair of shoes to me; it was a form of a expression. When it came down to the design of our collaboration with Converse, I envisioned how my style would live from the sole to the Converse patch. But as important as that is, I also wanted to put my creative touch onto an iconic shoe while still pushing a concept that had yet to be incorporated by the brand.
After a few hours at the Converse Headquarters in Boston, I had the idea of wrapping the entire upper canvas with Velcro, and then offering interchangeable colors per pair. For my first-ever shoe collaboration, I’m happy to know that I’ve developed something that will encourage and drive others to create and inspire through their unique form of expression."
