The Adidas Samba undergoes a contemporary transformation through a collaboration with a Chinese designer known for oversized silhouettes. Inspired by Adidas's soccer and skate lines, particularly the Adidas Predator Absolute cleat, Zhang's version of the Samba features a glossy patent finish instead of traditional leather. The design also includes bulging, puffed-out treatments on the collar, reminiscent of early 2000s skate shoes that were often modified by riders into low-tops for a distinctive, cushioned appearance.
